This Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention (SNAP-Ed) Nutritionist position provides input into the planning for and conducts the implementation of public education to improve healthy food and lifestyle choices among SNAP and SNAP eligible families and individuals encompassing all age groups through the Long Island Region. As part of the LI Region SNAP-Ed Program, this position works closely with the team of Nutrition Educators and the Project Director to conduct program delivery, evaluation, management and marketing. This position also collaborates with the SNAP-Ed staff conducting social marketing and environmental activities. This position will be beased in the CCE Nassau County office. Traveling between Nassau County partnered locations and Suffolk County partnered locations on a daily basis will be required.
This is a 1.0 FTE grant-funded position. Funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) program is through the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and administered by the Federal Food and Nutrition Services (FNS).

POSITION DETAILS:
This position is a full-time, non-exempt position, 40 hours per week. The hourly rate for this position is $30.00. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance, NYS retirement, vacation and sick leave.
