Constructability Review Specialist General Location: Los Angeles, CA Department: Preconstruction Design Management About the Role: Are you an experienced Construction Administrator, Project Manager, or Superintendent with a keen eye for design consistency, constructability, and project coordination? We are seeking a Constructability Review Specialist to support the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative in reviewing and refining project plans before construction begins. This role is instrumental in identifying and resolving design conflicts, reducing RFIs and Change Orders, and ensuring seamless coordination across design disciplines. Key Responsibilities: Project Scope Scheduling Assist in defining and reviewing the Project Requirement Document (PRD) scope of work and schedule, including interim housing requirements. Value Engineering Design Coordination Provide value engineering recommendations at the outset of the design phase to optimize project efficiency. Ensure design documents are accurately coordinated across multiple disciplines, reducing inconsistencies and conflicts. Conduct comprehensive constructability reviews of pre-bid construction documents. Quality Assurance Constructability Review Review design deliverables to identify ambiguities, errors, and omissions that could impact construction. Minimize RFIs and Change Orders by ensuring design clarity and alignment with project goals. Work collaboratively with the Design Manager and Owner Authorized Representative to address design concerns proactively. Project Coordination Documentation Write and review Requests for Clarifications (RFCs), submittals, and change orders. Utilize Bluebeam, MS Word, MS Excel, and other software to document and track constructability issues. Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support project success. What You Bring: 15+ years of professional experience in architecture, construction administration, or project management within public/educational facility construction or large commercial projects. Expertise in design and construction oversight, ensuring smooth coordination and constructability of project plans. Proven track record of managing complex projects with a construction value of $8M+ for a single project or $80M+ cumulatively (for architecture-based roles). Alternatively, project superintendent or project manager experience on projects exceeding $30M individually or $400M cumulatively. Strong proficiency in Bluebeam, MS Word, and MS Excel for document review and project tracking. Ability to work quickly, efficiently, and confidently in high-pressure environments. Preferred Qualifications: Degree in Architecture (preferred) or equivalent college-level coursework with additional experience. Proficiency in construction documentation, submittal reviews, and change order management.
