Join the University of Waikato's dynamic credit transfer programme in partnership with Shanghai International Studies University (SISU), located in Shanghai - China's most international city. Be a key part of the academic journey for Chinese students as they embark on a Foundation year, followed by one year of degree-level courses. Upon transferring to Waikato University, students progress into undergraduate degrees in Arts, Social Science, or Management. Over the past 28 years, more than 2,600 students have successfully graduated from this enriching programme.
As a key contributor to the programme, you'll guide students through the equivalent of their first-year credits, with emphasis on English language development and helping them bridge the gap before they transfer to Waikato for their final years of study. This position is focused entirely on teaching, with no research or postgraduate supervision responsibilities, offering a rewarding environment for those passionate about English language education in a collaborative international setting.
Salary will be in the range of CNY370,000 to CNY450,000 per year based on skills, knowledge and experience brought to the position. This is a full-time role based at the Shanghai International Studies University Campus in China.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced educator with a Master's degree in English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics, or TESOL, and ideally a PhD, to join our dynamic team in China. You will be passionate about teaching and have a proven track record in higher education teaching, with the ability to engage both large lecture groups and small seminars. Your expertise in Asian, particularly Chinese, culture, and teaching English across diverse subject areas will be key in helping our international students succeed. You'll thrive in a collaborative environment and be committed to innovative teaching methods. With excellent communication, time management, and decision-making skills, you will contribute to the University's internationalisation goals. A proactive, patient, and professional approach will ensure you build strong connections with students, staff, and partners alike.
