Job Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Reimbursement Analyst with at least 5 years of experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and filing annual Medicare, CHIA, and UCCR Reports, including Area Wage Index/Occupational Mix, DSH, and Pass-through Reimbursement for the hospital. This position also involves working closely with internal and external teams to ensure accurate reporting and financial statement accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Reimbursement Team to prepare and file Medicare, CHIA, and UCCR Reports, as well as Champus filings.
- Work with external consultants to ensure accurate reporting of Area Wage Index/Occupational Mix and DSH.
- Maintain proper records to support audit processes.
- Document and track all Medicare Pass-through costs, including IME & GME, for cost reporting and NPSR analysis.
- Support the filing of other governmental reports as needed, including State Home Office cost reports and SNF cost reports.
- Prepare monthly HSN invoices and manage ER Bad Debt recoveries through INET.
- Collaborate with MAC auditors to ensure efficient documentation and minimal audit adjustments.
- Analyze Medicare cost reports, manage filing processes, and assess their impact on NPSR.
- Stay updated on Medicare & Medicaid regulations and interpret their effects on cost reporting and NPSR.
- Work closely with the Government Payer Policy and Net Revenue teams to ensure accurate reimbursement reporting and financial settlements.
- Support Net Revenue Managers and other financial teams to meet monthly close deadlines.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Healthcare, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in healthcare finance, particularly in academic medical settings.
- In-depth knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement methodologies.
- Strong quantitative and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency with MS Access, Excel, and database management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly interpret and present complex data.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Epic is a plus.
