The Program Manager is a team member of the broader Program Management Team that partners with Centers, Institutes and Programs, as well as College leadership, to develop and deliver well managed student, partner, and benefactor engagement and experiences within Mendoza's undergraduate and graduate business degree programs.


In this role, the Program Manager is a partner to the Program leadership with the following key responsibilities:

  • Understanding program operations (annual activities to support the program, program budget, program faculty and staff needs, and student experience requirements)
  • Functions as the primary liaison and point of contact for cross-functional college resources (e.g. facilities, travel and events, student services) and to key stakeholders outside of the college (e.g Notre Dame Global)
  • Drives delivery for annual program goals while communicating effective and timely updates, measures and evaluates program metrics for success and opportunities, and ensures alignment with Center, Institute, or Program leadership.
  • Serves as a point of contact for benefactor engagement, collecting and tracking information for annual and/or impact reporting, and ensuring fiduciary compliance and reporting.
  • Engaging with and supporting the Faculty Director and/or Program Director on program priorities and strategies, operational alignment, and student experiences.


Key competencies include managing multiple priorities, ability to build strong relationships, influencing and negotiating within teams and partners, acting with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and comfort in constructively challenging legacy operations and norms. For some roles, people management may also be required.


The Program Manager is the source of knowledge, delivery, and tracking for all aspects of the program and helps to build and maintain systemic tools for tracking, measuring and reporting on all program metrics. Program Managers support a primary Program, Center or Institute within the college and may also assist the broader Program Management team across all Centers, Institutes and Programs as available.





Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Candidates should have 5+ year experience in program design or project management, including:
    • Experience in managing relationships/partnerships with nonprofit organizations and/or corporations
    • Ability to establish objectives and develop strategies for achieving objectives
    • Exceptional organizational skills, and an ability to manage a complex portfolio of activities happening concurrently
    • Ability to develop and maintain diverse stakeholder relationships
    • Collaborative and team-oriented working style
    • Strong organizational capacities
    • Comfortable working in ambiguity and taking initiative to solve problems
    • Familiarity with annual budgets/ P+L planning and management
    • Familiarity with project management tools and developing processes in a cross-functional setting




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Led/mentored junior staff members
  • Experience working in an inter-cultural environment
  • Experience developing and leading cross-functional program with a varied set of key stakeholders
  • Ability to drive outcomes through influence, negotiation, and relationship building
  • Comfortable with outcome reporting, specifically KPIs and OKRs
  • Exposure to innovative pedagogies such as Design Thinking, Systems Thinking, and Negotiation
  • Background in project/program design and/or evaluation are preferred
  • Experience in collaborative environments like Google Suite and Trello
