Private Equity is a fast-paced, team oriented environment providing many growth opportunities. We collaborate with noted General Partners from around the globe and you can contribute to the success of the nations largest public pension fund. Our Investment Office, Private Equity (PE) Team is currently seeking an Investment Officer II to be responsible for assisting with the administration of the PE program work and participating in the evaluation of numerous investment opportunities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Act as lead to manage and monitor complex partnerships, co-investment, and direct investments. 
• Establish and maintain relationships with an assigned group of partnerships and/or direct investments to evaluate performance relative to multiple quantitative and qualitative thresholds over the life of the investment. 
• Coordinate and monitor the workload assigned for each investment partnership which includes monitoring and training the Investment Officer I or Investment Officer II. 
• Lead due diligence for the purpose of considering additional commitments to existing strategic relationships and selected direct investment opportunities.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

• Three to five years experience monitoring all aspects of private equity, real estate, hedge fund, loan, or other private asset investments. Experience with partnership agreements, amendments, consents, quarterly financial statements, annual financial statements, annual meetings, advisory committee meetings, and other items
• Experience performing private market attribution analysis
• Prior experience training, coaching, or teaching in a business environment
• Prior experience interacting with external stakeholders in a productive manner
• MBA or possession of an advanced degree in finance, accounting, or other related fields or possession of a certification such as a CPA, CFA, or CAIA

If employed, you may be subject to rules imposed by Personal Trading Regulations and Conflict of Interest Code that apply to CalPERS team members, which require disclosure of certain investment information and use of a designated trading platform for securities transactions, as well as filing a Statement of Economic Interest (Form 700)
