Orbital ATK is currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Intern to provide support to our Defense Electronic Systems team in our Northridge, CA offices.
Role description & Responsibilities:
As an Intern in the Mechanical Engineering Department, the candidate will be asked to prepare and/or modify mechanical drawings for Sensor Systems, Test Equipment and Aerospace Vehicles. Responsibilities will be to interface with other disciplines to assure all requirements are being met. He/she will also interface with suppliers to assure parts meet all engineering requirements. In this area, he/she may also be required to perform Structural, Thermal, or Dynamic analysis of Aerospace Vehicles. The candidate will also assist in the creation of PowerPoint Presentations for Program meetings.
Experience Requirements:
Candidate must have a knowledge of the major drafting tools currently in use within the department: Pro-Engineer, MakerBot, ePIC, and Microsoft Office.
