Job Description

Mission Overview:

We are on a mission to combat global warming through the widespread adoption of smart devices. Starting with electric vehicles (EVs), we have built the largest network of connected and intelligent cars in North America to help balance the electric grid. Our impact continues to grow as we expand into smart thermostats, revolutionizing HVAC systems and driving energy efficiency. But we're just getting started—today's increasingly connected homes are placing more strain on the grid, and we're committed to helping utilities manage this electrification. Join us as we work to make the world greener, one device at a time.

Our Culture:

We are a tight-knit, ethical team driven by purpose—helping people and the planet. Collaboration, transparency, and a sense of fun are key parts of our daily work life. Whether it's pitching new ideas directly to leadership or enjoying a virtual gaming tournament, we work hard but enjoy the journey together. If you want to be part of a mission-driven team that's passionate about creating positive change, you'll feel right at home.

Role Overview:

As a Client/Field Marketing Manager, you will play a critical role in helping millions of residential IoT devices connect to North America's energy systems, reducing CO2 emissions and preventing grid blackouts. You'll lead marketing efforts in key regions to support device categories like electric vehicles and smart thermostats. With millions of customers across the continent already using our products, your work will help us expand our reach and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Marketing Campaigns: Deploy utility program marketing budgets across diverse geographies to hit enrollment targets for devices like EVs and smart thermostats.
Develop Scalable Campaigns: Manage a broad pipeline of creative assets, ensuring campaigns are repeatable, scalable, and aligned with utility brand and communications guidelines.
Innovate Acquisition Strategies: Launch and optimize marketing efforts across channels—TV, digital, direct mail, field events, and more—to drive customer acquisition and engagement.
Build Strong Client Relationships: Manage relationships with utility clients, guiding them through the marketing process from project initiation to execution, and delivering impressive results.
Understand Customer Needs: Analyze customer feedback and market trends to continuously refine marketing strategies and identify new opportunities.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns, identify areas for improvement, and make actionable recommendations for future strategies.

Examples of What You'll Work On:

Targeted Campaigns: Craft value propositions and experiment with creative assets and marketing channels to optimize campaign performance and meet targets.
User and Campaign Insights: Analyze user behavior and campaign data to make informed decisions that drive growth and improve cost-efficiency.
New Marketing Channels: Identify and explore innovative channels, partnerships, and marketing strategies to drive user acquisition and engagement.
End-to-End Strategy: Lead strategy sessions and hands-on execution, from high-level planning to boots-on-the-ground action—no idea is too big or small.

Required Skills and Experience:

Passion for Impact: A genuine interest in electric vehicles, smart thermostats, the electric grid, and addressing climate change.
Proven Marketing Experience: Strong background in marketing, analytics, growth, or related fields with a demonstrated ability to drive results.
Digital Marketing Expertise: Experience with digital tracking, analytics tools (like Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and others), and the ability to analyze and improve conversion strategies.
Data-Driven: Comfort with advanced data analysis tools (such as PostgreSQL, Python, or Mixpanel) and statistical modeling to guide marketing decisions.
Creative and Resourceful: Ability to ideate and implement innovative customer acquisition strategies and develop impactful marketing assets.
Hands-On and Agile: Willingness to take action and get involved, no matter the task—whether strategizing or executing on the ground.
Strong Communication Skills: Effective communicator with the ability to establish rapport with customers, colleagues, and clients.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with graphic design tools (Illustrator, Photoshop, Figma, etc.)
Background in video production or content creation
Experience with campaign automation platforms (Klaviyo, Braze, MoEngage, etc.)

Benefits of Working with Us:

Competitive Salary & Equity: $110,000 - $160,000, plus equity, based on experience.
Flexible Work Environment: Fully remote, hybrid, or in-person work at one of our hubs (San Francisco, Columbus, Minneapolis, Denver).
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy every other Friday off, flexible hours, and unlimited vacation/sick days.
Performance-based Bonuses: Annual bonuses tied to individual and company performance.
Comprehensive Healthcare: PPO health, dental, and vision plans with a 401k match.
Career Growth: Opportunities for paid professional development, annual retreats, and a strong focus on internal career progression.
Wellness Perks: $1,500/year healthy living expense, plus an annual budget for home office supplies and work-related travel.

Join Us:

We are looking for driven individuals passionate about making a real impact on the planet. If you're excited about the opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing, purpose-driven team, we want to hear from you. Even if your experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification, please apply and tell us how you can contribute to our mission. Together, we can help accelerate the global transition to clean energy.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 110,000.00 160,000.00 Per Year
