Job Description: Executive Director of Business Development and Educational Initiatives Position Overview The Executive Director of Business Development and Educational Initiatives is a dual-role
senior leadership position, serving internally as the Director of Business Development for
OneHope and externally as the Executive Director for Miscio, a standalone educational initiative
owned by OneHope. This role is pivotal in driving sustainable initiatives, particularly in higher
education, and is instrumental in realizing the strategic vision of the organization's leadership.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership and Vision ● Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for Miscio and other educational
initiatives
● Provide critical insights and recommendations to the President and Chief of Staff on
sustainable initiative projects
● Drive innovation in leveraging technology, networks, and human resources to achieve
organizational goals
Financial Management and Growth
● Manage an annual budget of $800K-$1M with full decision-making authority
● Generate and grow annual revenues exceeding $500K, with a target of 30%
year-over-year growth
● Develop comprehensive financial models, forecasts, and strategies for various initiatives
● Oversee financial reporting and auditing of existing systems
Team Leadership and Management
● Lead and manage a diverse team including 3 full-time American employees, 12 full-time
employees in East Africa, and various contractors
● Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and cross-cultural collaboration
Partnership and Relationship Management
● Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, vendors, and other key
stakeholders
● Liaise between the President, regional and functional VPs, CFO, and the Emerging
Enterprises Board
● Manage internal and external relations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
Operational Oversight
● Oversee the development and implementation of system architectures and tech stacks
● Manage web development initiatives and CRM systems
● Ensure compliance with higher education regulations across multiple jurisdictions
Market Research and Analysis
● Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities and challenges
● Analyze comparable models and create comprehensive project proposals
Marketing and Communications
● Develop and oversee the implementation of marketing strategies
● Ensure consistent and effective messaging across all platforms and initiatives
Qualifications and Skills
● Master's degree in a relevant field
● Proven track record in business development, strategic planning, and team leadership
● Expert in financial modeling, budgeting, and revenue generation
● Proficient in intercultural communication and leadership
● Bilingual in Spanish and English
● Advanced knowledge of AI technology, web development, and CRM systems
● Expertise in higher education compliance and regulations
● Skilled in using accounting systems, marketing platforms, AI tools, and Adobe Creative Suite
Unique Aspects of the Role ● Navigates complex internal systems and politics while managing external partnerships
● Operates across multiple continents, adapting to various cultural norms and regulations
● Balances the needs of internal stakeholders and boards with external partnerships and
