As the Industrial Designer, you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of innovative consumer vaping products within the cannabis and nicotine categories. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire design process, from ideation and concept development to prototyping and final production. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including engineering, product management, marketing, and manufacturing—to ensure that our products are not only aesthetically appealing but also easily manufacturable, functional and aligned with user needs. As a key contributor at Ispire, you will help shape our product identity, drive user-centered design principles, and deliver exceptional solutions that elevate our brand in the marketplace.

Duties & Responsibilities

Design Development

• Lead the design process for new consumer vaping products, creating innovative and user-friendly designs.
• Develop sketches, 3D models, and prototypes to communicate design concepts effectively.
• Iterate designs based on feedback from stakeholders, usability testing, and market research.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Engagement

• Work closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible and meet product specifications.
• Collaborate with marketing teams to develop product narratives and packaging that resonate with target audiences.
• Participate in project kick-off meetings and regular design reviews to ensure alignment on objectives and timelines.

Market Research & User Insights

• Conduct user research and gather feedback to inform design decisions and enhance user experience.
• Stay informed about industry trends, design standards, and competitor products to inspire innovative design solutions.
• Create and maintain design documentation, including specifications and style guides, to ensure consistency across product lines.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate prototypes and final products against design specifications, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
• Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost-effective manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing team to troubleshoot design-related issues during production.

Knowledge

• Strong understanding of industrial design principles and the product development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with materials, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability.

Skills

• Proficiency in design software such as CAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Excellent visual communication skills, with the ability to present concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong analytical skills to assess user needs and translate them into effective design solutions.

Abilities

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Skilled in collaborating with cross-functional teams and building strong working relationships.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and embrace new design challenges.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address design and manufacturing challenges efficiently.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial design or product design, preferably in consumer electronics or related industries.
• Proven track record of successfully designing and launching consumer products from concept to production.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to evolving priorities.

Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific worker location. For the state of California only, the range of pay for this role is between $90,000 to $110,000, again depending on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the individual candidate.
