Position Summary

The Center for Healthy Weight and Wellness, located at Washington University School of Medicine, is seeking a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator II (CRC II) to contribute to an innovative project aimed at developing and pilot-testing an âœall-in-one❠online pediatric healthy lifestyle intervention. This program is designed to expand access to guideline-based parenting techniques and support, while looking at socio-economic environmental dynamics in its approach to promote positive parenting skills, which will establish and maintain healthy eating and activity behaviors and healthy home routines for children, adolescents, and their families. There is an urgent public health need to increase the availability of and access to evidence-based programs to establishing and maintaining healthy lifestyles in children to reduce long-term adverse health risks such as eating disorders.


The CRC II will coordinate investigator-initiated, clinical and translational research, and act as a liaison with the principal investigator, sponsoring agencies, and study participants. The CRC II will manage and document study protocols to ensure compliance with WashU requirements, and work with the PIs and program staff to prepare assessments, development of consent forms, and various materials to support the study. The CRC II will closely collaborate with the technology partner on content development and platform design to build an engaging patient-centered digital platform for our program.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assists in developing content for the online intervention platform, including training modules (e.g., nutrition-focused content, coach-participant interactions, goal-setting strategies, etc.).
• Coordinates with the sponsoring agency on platform design ideas and ensures effective communication across all teams.
• Works with the study team to identify, screen, and enroll study participants through medical informatics, hospital announcements and community partners, assist PI with recruiting behavioral health coaches to deliver program by creating advertisement and social media posts to share with our partners.
• Leads focus groups with participants and key stakeholders (e.g., payers healthcare providers, behavioral health specialists working on establishing healthy eating and activity behaviors with the family) to gather feedback on the digital intervention platform.
• Implements and manages all phases of study/protocol; ensures compliance with protocol guidelines and requirements of regulatory agencies; establishes record-keeping systems; makes assessments and determinations of participantsâ™ progress in the study; analyzes, investigates and reports adverse events; makes decisions as to when to notify PI of issues, when to stop participant inclusion and/or to make and/or recommend adjustment of the protocol of particular participants.
• Resolves protocol management issues and recommends corrective action as appropriate.
• Serves as liaison with funding or sponsoring agency.
• Coordinates the development of consent forms, questionnaires, and the application of research techniques; tracks consenting status of participants.
• Assists in writing instructional procedure manuals for study progress, data collection and coding.
• Manages other research related tasks as requested for the study.

Salary Range

$52,600.00 - $78,900.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
